UV Editing: Marking Seams, Unwrapping, Exporting and Importing UV Map
Learn how to mark seams on your 3D model before unwrapping, then structure the uv map and export it as an image in order to draw textures in a painting program (I use Gimp here). Then import the image map back to Blender and make the model ready for rendering.
